Freelance Academic Copyeditor
About the Role:
We are seeking meticulous Academic Copyeditors with native-level English fluency to refine scholarly manuscripts submitted for publication in the Journal of the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society (JMBRAS). The journal publishes two issues per year, featuring research papers in the fields of humanities and social sciences concerning Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and the broader Malay World.
Task Description:
- Language & Style: Correct grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors in accordance with UK British English.
- Academic Clarity: Where necessary, improve sentence structure, clarity, and overall readability without altering the author’s original voice or academic argument.
- Formatting & Citations: Ensure adherence to the JMBRAS Guidelines for Authors, verify and correct formatting for text, block quotes, and the reference list/bibliography in conformity to JMBRAS house style.
